PeaceHealth is seeking a Anesthesia Technician for a Full Time, 1.00 FTE, Variable position. The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $27.24 - $40.90. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc.
This position is represented by a collective bargaining agreement. There may be more than one opening on this posting.
Job Summary
This position is responsible for performing a variety of technical and supportive patient care tasks to assist attending anesthesiologists and nurse anesthetists in performing anesthetic procedures.
Essential Functions
Prepare, supply and equip the operating room to meet anesthesiologist and surgery room requirements for surgical procedures. This includes assisting in room setup and room turnover, stocking supplies and obtaining supplies and equipment as directed.
Clean machines, monitors, and equipment following established infection control procedures.
Assist in patient care/patient monitoring as directed by RN or Anesthesiologist.
May assist with patient laboratory tests and results.
Coordinate supply inventory for Anesthesia Department.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education
Experience
Minimum of 1 year Preferred: operating room experience as a CNA, Surgical Services Assistant, or Surgical Instrument Tech
Preferred: Anesthesia Technician, basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology, and medical terminology
Required: Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patient's needs
Credentials
Required Upon Hire: Basic Life Support
Preferred: Certified Nurse Assistant - Washington
Preferred: Certified Anesthesia Technologist
Skills
Ability to work independently and with others in a high-volume challenging environment (Required)
Ability to coordinate activities and work collaboratively with others (Required)
Well organized, detail oriented and self-motivated (Required)
Good communication skills (Required)
Basic computer/keyboarding skills including MS Office applications (Required)

Working Conditions
Lifting
Patient handling no greater than 35 lbs. without the use of assistive equipment and/or devices (NIOSH).
Fine motor skills to be able to grasp and control medical equipment and perform precise procedures.
Ability to move around area with occasional sitting.
Frequent reaching/ bending/ squatting/ kneeling/ grasping.
Lift/Carry: Frequently up to 15 lbs. Occasionally up to 20 lbs.
Push/Pull: Frequently up to 20 lbs. force. Occasional up to 30 lbs. force.
Environmental Conditions
Exposure to biohazard, body fluids and airborne particles.
Exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals.
Time spent on site in medical/hospital setting.
Mental/Visual
Vision and hearing required within normal limits (glasses, contacts, hearing aids permitted).
Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
