in New York, NY.

Title: Community Organizer

Location: New York City (Hybrid)

Employment Type: Contract

Pay rate: $22 - $25.14/hr.

About the Role:

We are seeking a passionate and driven Community Organizer to join a high-impact public policy campaign team focused on engaging and empowering a dynamic community of supporters. This team works at the intersection of advocacy, community engagement, and public affairs—helping to shape fair and progressive regulatory environments through grassroots mobilization and strategic stakeholder relationships.

In this role, you will activate and organize a vibrant community through both digital and in-person engagement. You will build and sustain relationships with advocates, plan and execute events, and help train and mobilize volunteers to take meaningful political action.

What You’ll Do:

• Mobilize community members through events, training sessions, and digital engagement
• Build relationships with advocates and local organizations
• Work closely with internal advocacy and public policy teams to implement community activation strategies
• Organize and lead community events across NYC’s five boroughs
• Develop and distribute campaign content to drive action and awareness
• Report on event outcomes and campaign metrics
• Engage in relational organizing to connect community members with policymakers and decision-makers
• Leverage campaign management tools, CRM systems, and communication platforms for community outreach

Qualifications:

• 1–3 years of experience in community organizing, political campaigns, tech advocacy, or grassroots movements
• Proven ability to recruit, train, and activate community advocates
• Experience planning grassroots events and advocacy campaigns
• Familiarity with digital organizing platforms, CRM tools (e.g., VAN, Salesforce), and email campaign systems
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams
• Willingness to travel regularly across NYC for in-person events
• Commitment to diversity, equity, and community empowerment

• Event planning and grassroots advocacy tools
