Job Description
Job purpose
- Assist Journeyman with installation of underground, interior electrical wiring and lighting system installations for various types of residential, commercial, and light industrial projects.
Duties and responsibilities
- Take direction from Journeyman and Foreman and act on direction, under supervision
- Help load and assemble necessary materials from shop and storage to complete each day’s tasks.
- Coordinate and communicate with the Journeyman Electrician that is supervising the work.
- Have the desire to obtain working knowledge of all types of electrical installations and learn applicable electrical codes, as well as learn and follow OSHA and other safety rules.
Qualifications
Qualifications include:
- High school diploma or equivalent education (GED)
- Current Electrical apprentice card required for WA
- Must be enrolled or willing to enroll in the OR JATC Apprenticeship Program.
- Organizational skills required
- Strong Communication skills needed
- Ability to interact effectively with other field personnel, trades, and office personnel as needed
- Basic mathematic skill and comprehension and a desire to learn to read project plans, submittals, and specifications.
- Willingness to learn NEC codes and rules, as well as OSHA and WSHA safety regulations.
- Must have own transportation, valid driver’s license, and pass pre-employment drug test.
Working conditions
Normal job hours for this position is 7am-330pm Employee will be required to work indoors and outdoors
Physical requirements
Must be able to lift 50 lbs repeatedly Must be able to operate company vehicle occasionally. Must be able to load and unload conduit from vehicle or trailer. Employee must be able to effectively learn to use electrical hand tools, power tools, wire pullers, and other tools require for a complete installation.
