The Healthcare Data Analyst will join a collaborative team at the department and division level grounded in patient safety and improvement science to participate in projects that promote a culture of excellence. The Healthcare Data Analyst will be responsible for acquisition, analysis, interpretation, and reporting of sensitive data to support performance measurement and improvement efforts. They must be able to work independently, and collaboratively, to locate and validate data, identify data requirements, and communicate data specifications to team members and leaders. They must be able to develop reporting/analytic solutions, but also be able to draw meaningful conclusions and make recommendations for actions. The Healthcare Data Analyst will leverage software applications to design solutions and perform detailed data mapping and analysis. They will not only manage data and design new processes, but will be accountable for the timely and accurate production of routine internal and external monitoring reports and special projects. This requires experience working with databases, along with creativity, curiosity, and initiative to evolve the tools and reporting systems to meet the priorities of a dynamic healthcare environment. They will need an understanding of data management, as well as manipulation and interpretation of large databases. Essential Responsibilities include acquiring, accessing, validating, and querying data from data repositories using tools such as Redcap, NDNQI, RL6, MS Access, Power BI; working with team members to define problems and clarify objectives; gathering and compiling documentation of metrics and data sources; collaborating with Information Systems; ensuring data integrity and quality; and regularly reviewing data for accuracy and trends. Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in mathematics, science, technology, information systems, public health, healthcare or related field, 1-3 years related work experience, experience with data collection, management, and analysis, analytic problem-solving skills, service mindedness, advanced skills with Microsoft applications, and preferred project management skills. Competencies include decision making, problem solving, independence of action, written and oral communications, knowledge, teamwork, and customer service. The job involves sedentary work with occasional exertion up to 10 pounds. The employer requires vaccination against influenza and COVID-19 as a condition of employment.
