CNN is hiring a visionary Executive Producer for its new streaming service. This role will lead a team of video producers, shooters and editors to develop and execute a significant portfolio of compelling VOD content for a direct-to-consumer platform. The EP is responsible for ensuring editorial excellence, creative innovation and operational expertise in every project they manage. The ideal candidate combines strong storytelling ability with creativity and proven leadership in high-volume video operations. Responsibilities include driving the editorial strategy across the platform by working collaboratively with key stakeholders; leading editorial development of series, explainers, and longform projects; working with top talent and contributors to generate ideas to provide a best-in-class VOD experience; identifying opportunities that align with the organization’s mission and audience needs; providing hands-on guidance and creative direction from concept to final delivery; building team workflows that optimize speed, quality and efficiency; fostering a collaborative, innovative, and inclusive team culture; working closely with other newsroom, product, audience, and merchandising leaders to maximize reach and impact; and championing creative approaches to visual storytelling. Qualifications include at least 10+ years of professional experience in video journalism, with at least 5 in a leadership or managerial role; proven track record of generating premium quality video content for digital audiences; deep understanding of news cycles, audience consumption trends, and digital storytelling formats; ability to work in high-pressure, fast-paced environments, balancing short-term execution with long-term strategy; experience collaborating with talent, production, and editorial teams to drive content innovation; and a strong analytical mindset with an ability to use data to inform content decisions.
