Full-Time Special Needs Nanny – Collingswood, NJ

Annual Salary Estimate: $54,000+
($26/hour; payroll with benefits)

A kind and dedicated family in Collingswood, NJ is seeking a Full-Time Special Needs Nanny to support their loving 4-year-old son. The family values patience, kindness, and consistency over formal education and is seeking a nanny who can build trust, provide stability, and support their son’s therapeutic goals at his own pace.

About the Child:

The child is a sweet boy with a rare genetic disorder. He is nonverbal, developmentally delayed and is able to walk independently. He uses a communication device, though it is still new to him. He also has a seizure disorder, and while his mother typically administers emergency nasal spray, the nanny must be comfortable doing so on their own. 

Responsibilities:

• Engage in daily care routines, feeding, and diapering
• Participate in therapy sessions at home and accompany the child to therapy appointments using the family’s vehicle
• Follow and reinforce therapy goals and interventions
• Provide age-appropriate, developmentally supportive play
• Create a calm, safe, and nurturing environment

• Communicate regularly with parents and therapists

Requirements:

• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Comfortable driving the family’s vehicle for appointments (insured)
• CPR and First Aid certification required
• Experience with special needs children preferred, especially nonverbal or developmentally delayed children
• Must be reliable, patient, and supportive, with a gentle and intuitive caregiving style
• COVID vaccination is not required
• Provide 3-5 professional references

• Must have U.S. work authorization

Compensation & Benefits:

• Hourly Rate: $26/hour
• Monday-Friday 8:30 am - 4:30 pm
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours/week
• Paid Time Off: 10 days annually (vacation, sick, or personal)
• Paid Holidays Off (6): Christmas, New Year’s Day, Thanksgiving, July 4th, Labor Day, Memorial Day
• Use of family car during working hours

• Parking available

Additional Info

• Both parents work from home 
• No pets in the home

• No other household staff aside from bi-weekly cleaners
