Job Description:

Role Profile: Protein Expression & Purification Specialist (Contract Position)

Position Summary:

• Seeking an experienced scientist to support protein production workflows through bacterial expression systems, with expertise in protein isolation and purification techniques.

Essential Requirements & Responsibilities:

• BS/MS in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or related field
• Hands-on experience with bacterial protein expression
• Execute bacterial protein expression protocols using E. coli and other prokaryotic systems
• Demonstrated expertise in aseptic technique and bacterial culture maintenance
• Proficiency in cell lysis methods (sonication, chemical, enzymatic) and protein extraction
• Perform protein analysis using SDS-PAGE and other analytical techniques
• Document all experimental procedures and results in ELN
• Maintain detailed laboratory records and standard operating procedures
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for workflow troubleshooting
• Excellent documentation and communication abilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with protein purification techniques (FPLC, chromatography)
• Familiarity with automation systems and high-throughput processes
• Experience with method development and optimization
• Knowledge of additional protein characterization methods (Western blot)

Skills:

• Bacterial expression & culture maintenance, cell lysis techniques, protein extraction, protein analysis (SDS-PAGE)

Education:

• BS/MS in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or related field

Certifications & Licenses:

• Proficiency in Microsoft office programs (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) is expected
