Job Overview
The Microbiologist/Molecular Biologist will play a key role in supporting research and development initiatives within Crop Science. This position involves conducting microbial analyses, developing and optimizing methods, and generating high-quality data to advance ongoing projects. The successful candidate will work collaboratively across teams and contribute to innovative solutions in microbial research.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform microbiological analyses on a variety of microbial species to support internal research projects.
- Develop and optimize protocols for Colony Forming Unit (CFU) quantification and other microbiological methods.
- Conduct viability and stability assays in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Process diverse sample types for microbial recovery and cultivation using multiple media.
- Prepare, analyze, and present experimental data and findings to internal teams and stakeholders.
- Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment to ensure reliable performance.
- Support general laboratory operations, including supply management, equipment calibration, and maintaining a clean, safe workspace.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams within and engage with external partners as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, or a related discipline.
- Hands-on experience with microbial culturing, aseptic techniques, and microbial quantification methods.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately follow complex protocols.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective reporting and collaboration.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
