We specialize in helping college students — especially those at Penn State — build lifelong learning habits through individualized tutoring and coaching. Our tutors don’t just help students pass exams; we help them understand the material, stay organized, and develop confidence in their academic skills. Position Overview We’re seeking a Professional Accounting Tutor with experience teaching or tutoring introductory accounting courses . This is a contracted position ideal for someone who enjoys working one-on-one with students and wants flexible hours while maintaining a high level of professionalism and accountability. Responsibilities Provide at least 5 hours per week of one-on-one tutoring in basic accounting (virtual or in-person in State College). Support students in developing strong conceptual understanding and problem-solving strategies. Log all tutoring hours weekly (by Sunday) and submit monthly for payment. Maintain professionalism and clear communication with students and the Tierney Education team. Requirements Prior experience tutoring accounting (college-level). Strong understanding of introductory accounting concepts. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with students. Reliable schedule and consistent follow-through. Preferred Qualifications Penn State graduate who has completed or tutored ACCTG 211 (Financial and Managerial Accounting) or equivalent courses. Familiarity with Penn State course expectations and student learning culture. $50/hour contracted pay. Paid monthly. Flexible scheduling based on student demand and tutor availability.
