StevenDouglas is exclusively engaged on a Project Cost Accountant career opportunity in Austin, Texas. This position works in a hybrid schedule capacity.

Reporting to the Director, this role is responsible for the financial management of all projects. The position will work closely with the project management team to lead all financial components, including monitoring project cost versus budget, accrual forecasting, expenditure tracking, status reports, management of unbilled expenses, purchase requisitions, and change orders. The candidate will have intermediate accounting knowledge and will be capable of managing the accounting and financial side of all projects. Specific duties performed will be based on project-specific needs identified by the project management team.

Responsibilities include:

• Managing accrual and cash basis forecasts for multiple ongoing projects reflecting project cost, cost commitments, financing cost, and overall estimate at completion

• Monitoring project cost versus budget expenditures

• Supporting the project team in reviewing and processing purchase orders, invoices, and change orders

• Participate in monthly project financial reporting meetings with Accounting and Finance departments and reporting project actuals, commitments, financing cost, and overall estimate at completion

• Act as the department’s point of contact regarding financial items with the Accounting and Financing departments

• Work closely with the Finance department to develop financing cost requirements for new projects

• Setting up new projects to ensure project costs are captured accurately and consistently amongst all projects

Education :

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• Minimum of 2-3 years of directly related experience in cost accounting

• Accrual and Cash based project cost forecasting

• Estimate at completion analysis

• Excel proficiency
