Purchasing Assistant / Procurement Support Specialist

Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm
Pay: $18–$22/hr, depending on experience

We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Purchasing Assistant to support our procurement and materials management functions. The ideal candidate has a strong work ethic, excellent follow-through, and consistent attendance. This role is essential to keeping production running smoothly by ensuring parts, materials, and supplies are ordered accurately and delivered on time.

Responsibilities

• Monitor upcoming purchase orders and follow up on all items approaching their due dates or past-due.
• Immediately notify Josh of any orders that are late or expected to be late.
• Assist with spot-buy requests from Northwood personnel.
• Track assigned orders through the full purchasing cycle, from request to final delivery.
• Purchase stock parts requested by internal departments, including Premade, Electrical, Final Assembly, Engineering, Fabrication, and Machine Shop.
• Assist with ordering machine-specific components for production builds.
• Maintain adequate stock levels of electrical shop consumables and kanban/bulk electrical parts.
• Maintain sufficient inventory of gauge bulk wire.
• Support the procurement and parts team with additional tasks as needed.
• Assist with vendor communication, managing returns, and resolving order or delivery issues.

• Strong written and verbal communication

Experience with the following is preferred but not required:

• HubSpot
• QuickBooks
• Fishbowl
• Microsoft Excel & Word
• Microsoft Teams
