About the Role
The Company is seeking a Data Governance Foundation Group Manager - SVP to take on a pivotal role in establishing and driving the BCBS 239 compliance plan for the Risk function. The successful candidate will be responsible for fostering connectivity with relevant execution leads, facilitating working groups, and ensuring the seamless alignment of various teams, including Product, Operations, Technology, and Data. This role demands an experienced program manager with a strong understanding of risk management processes and regulatory frameworks, particularly in the context of data governance and data risk. The Group Manager will act as the single point of contact for the Risk area, handling escalations, and providing critical execution support. Key responsibilities include compliance plan establishment, stakeholder connectivity, working group management, status synthesis and reporting, risk and issue management, and communication and advocacy. Applicants for this role at the company should have a minimum of 10 years' of relevant experience in banking or financial services, with an additional 6-10 years' of managerial experience. Deep subject matter expertise in data governance and/or data risk, control framework, and policy development is essential. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record as a program or project manager, strong business analysis competency, and the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively at all levels. A Bachelor's degree is required, with a Master's degree being preferred. The role also demands strong negotiation, influencing, and stakeholder management skills, as well as the ability to create and champion a positive risk culture that supports sustainable business growth. Experience in data operating model practices, data compliance, and a strong analytical and problem-solving skill set are also necessary.
