breakthrough technology developed at Nokia Bell Labs, we are working to enhance,

accelerate, and streamline the diagnosis and treatment experience for patients and

physicians.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced Lead Hardware Engineer to spearhead electronics

development and become a foundational member of our passionate and collaborative team.

This role will be responsible for defining specifications, designing, and overseeing testing of

  • 5+ years of industry experience designing hardware end-to-end in a highly regulated industry (medical/aerospace/defense/etc)
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience developing and maintaining requirements traceability matrices (RTMs) to link system, software, and hardware requirements; creating and updating risk management files (FMEAs); and managing Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) to control BOM revisions and PCB updates
  • Demonstrated experience leading hardware development projects from concept to production, ideally in a startup or fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in SPICE-based circuit simulation (e.g., LTSpice or PSpice); expert-level for schematic capture and PCB layout (e.g. Altium Designer or Cadence Allegro); Python for automating test procedures and data logging
  • Hands-on experience with hardware debugging, test equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.), and test automation
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage external relationships and work across interdisciplinary teams (mechanical, optical, software, quality, regulatory)
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and able to thrive in a dynamic, evolving startup culture

IDEAL EXPERIENCE

  • Experience designing and testing medical device electrical equipment per IEC 60601 and ISO 13485
  • Experience navigating IEC 60601 risk management processes (per ISO 14971) and supported CE/FDA submissions, including preparing technical les for regulatory audits
  • Experience with CAD (SolidWorks, Autodesk, etc)
  • Experience with embedded C for microcontroller/ rmware integration on ARM- or PIC-based platforms
  • Knowledge of signal processing and image processing techniques relevant to biomedical imaging
