Primary Purpose This individual will lead the strategic alignment and operational integration of large load infrastructure across Exelon's utility footprint. This executive will be responsible for accelerating interconnection timelines, optimizing large load growth processes, and ensuring seamless coordination between internal teams and external partners. This role is pivotal in shaping Exelon's response to the surging demand for AI-ready infrastructure and will serve as a key interface between strategy, operations, innovation, and regulatory affairs.
The individual will also lead the internal and external efforts on innovation including the planning and execution of the Innovation Expo and other key events. They will also be primarily responsible for the development, origination, and execution of strategic plans for expanding Exelon's communication infrastructure in partnership with third parties.
This individual will work collaboratively across Exelon and will help build, manage, and lead a team to support execution and operations.
Primary Duties - Large Load Integration:
- Lead the end-to-end integration of large load infrastructure into Exelon's utility systems, ensuring alignment with long-term grid modernization and sustainability goals.
- Redesign and streamline the large load interconnection process to reduce average timelines. Collaborate with engineering, regulatory, and customer-facing teams to remove bottlenecks and improve speed-to-market for data center customers.
- Serve as a senior liaison to large load customers, ensuring their evolving needs are met with agility and transparency.
- Represent Exelon in national forums and events focused on next-generation data centers and AI infrastructure
- Actively engage with policymakers, regulators, and economic development agencies to shape supportive frameworks for data center growth.
- Corporate Innovation:
- Leading Exelon's Innovation Program, serving as a thought-leader on innovation methodology and tools, providing leadership for innovation growth and efficiency initiatives, and representing the company internally and externally in communicating the company's innovation strategy, goals and metrics
- Plan & Execute Exelon's Innovation Expo (Exelon's largest event) to showcase Innovation efforts and promote a Culture of Innovation
- Cultivate and maintain the culture of innovation at Exelon, including managing the peer groups, establishing metrics, developing training, and executing on the Innovation showcase / expo
- Incubate and test emerging technologies. Build business cases for testing technology and larger scale deployment
- Responsible for improving the culture of innovation
- Design & Implement Metrics to define and measure the Culture of Innovation
- Measure and develop recommendations for improving performance on Innovation Leadership, Organization, Learning, Process, Capabilities, Culture
- Design & Implement Training Programs, Rewards & Recognition '
- Partner with all of the OpCo's Leadership Team, HR, Communication, Legal, Risk to develop the company's innovation strategy and plans
- Track and Manage Exelon Intellectual Property (where applicable) related to innovation initiatives
- Strategic Development
- Developing and implementing business plans for strategic communications infrastructure (such as fiber optics and PLTE) and working across the organization to attract large load data centers. Leading analysis of opportunity, including asset diligence and geographic demand forecasts.
- Evaluate, Test, and Implement Emerging Technology that can directly improve Exelon's Operational Efficiency
- Other key tasks such as supporting the execution of projects in collaboration with the Operating companies for the build out of infrastructure pursuant to the award/receipt of federal grants
- Responsible for the communications of the program via the various avenues
- Collaborate with Utility leadership including Regulatory, Policy, Legal, and Economic Development colleagues on strategies to secure regulatory and/or legislative approval.
- Lead efforts to design and engineer project proposals. Lead contract proposals and negotiations and work with Legal, Finance, and Supply to Finalize transactions.

- Leadership:
- Represent Exelon to the community and industry, including serving on community or industry boards, and maintaining relationships with community, business and political leaders
- Provide leadership to the Corporate Strategy management team. Provide timely and accurate feedback regarding performance and operations

Job Scope - Provide direct support to the Senior Vice President of Corporate Strategy, Innovation and Sustainability.
- Provide strategic support to senior company leadership and executives on environment issues that can have significant financial impact and projects/programs that will impact the company for over the next two to ten years.
- Coordinate and collaborate with business unit management (CEOs, COOs, Presidents, VPs and Directors) to develop and implement strategy and policy.
- Develop and manage external relationships with customers, non-government environmental organizations, and other environmental stakeholders.
- Perform analysis, prepare reports, and develop and deliver recommendations to senior company leadership.
- Requires >50% travel in the U.S.
- Supervisory duties: Strategic initiatives, projects, planning activities (budget, headcount, etc) plus strategic input to Senior level decisions
- Budget: Budget responsibilities defined by DoFA (varies by group)
- Contacts: Combination of Senior internal and external constituents
- Span of control: Manages combination of individual contributors and other managers as the team hits milestones/stage gates and adds contributors
Minimum Qualifications - A minimum of 15 or more years of broad management experience in utility operations, data center development, or infrastructure strategy. Quality experience in managing in line and matrix organizational structures; developing and implementing corporate programs; leading cross-functional teams; providing strategic support to senior management; communicating internally and externally; managing stakeholder relationships; supervising staff; business planning, managing organizational performance; contract negotiations, and regulatory compliance.
- Deep understanding of grid interconnection, large load planning, and regulatory processes
- Proven leadership in cross-functional environments with a track record of delivering complex, high-impact projects. Excellent organizational and project management skills
- Experience with fiber infrastructure, communications leasing, or public-private partnerships is a strong plus
- Ability to formulate and execute business development and sales programs.
- The position requires a self-motivated individual willing to take on a broad range of responsibilities and make decisions in a manner consistent with Exelon values.
- Executive presence with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- All candidates must have the ability to speak, read and write English.
Preferred Qualifications - Master's Degree in a relevant field (e.g., science, engineering, law, public policy or business).
- Experience in regulated utilities and/or unregulated energy services company.
- Preferred candidates will also have a knowledge and understanding of electric utilities and their role working with data center companies and consumers.
- Familiarity with Exelon's operating companies and service territories.
- Experience navigating federal and state-level policy landscapes related to energy and digital infrastructure.
- Passion for innovation, sustainability, and customer-centric transformation.
