Department: MCR Sterile Process

FTE: Full Time, 1.0, 80.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)

Shift: Days

Pay: $22.14 - $28.78 / hour. Pay determined by applicant's relevant experience.

Summary:
Join our dedicated team as a Certified Sterile Processing Technician I, where you'll play a vital role in ensuring the safety and effectiveness of surgical instruments and medical equipment. This entry-level position involves performing essential sterile processing functions that support high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities:

• Decontaminate and clean instruments and equipment according to manufacturer instructions, including disassembly and selection of appropriate cleaning methods.
• Conduct sterilization processes for all instruments and equipment, ensuring all external indicators, filters, and labels are correct.
• Assist in routine cleaning and testing of sterilizers, including biological monitoring, leak testing, and Bowie Dick tests as needed.
• Accurately document all work performed using instrument tracking software or paper documentation.
• Utilize critical thinking and decisive judgment to operate with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements:

• High School diploma or GED.
• Certification as a CSPDT (Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician) or CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician).
• No prior experience required; preferred experience is 3 months of certification.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer, valid at the time of hire, and good for 60 days post-hire.
